The Deliverables Team Round-Table™ FAQ’s
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's) regarding The Deliverables Team Round-Table™
Q: How do all these Deliverables Team Members get paid for this meeting (do I pay for this meeting)?
A: Your arrangement might be to compensate Deliverables Team Members yourself or your arrangement with some Deliverables Team Members might be to bill the client directly. The key here is setting client expectations correctly so they don't receive any Deliverables Team Member bill that is a surprise. Encourage each Deliverables Team Member to estimate an "average flat fee per client," keeping in mind that some clients will require more time and others will require little.
Q: What if Deliverables Team Members do not agree with each other regarding a recommendation?
A: Just before adjourning every Deliverables Team Round-Table™, ask the group:
- Are there any recommendations or strategies for this client described on The Greatest Probability Strategy™ Implementation plan of action with which you do not agree? Pause for agreement.
- Is there any new recommendation or strategy approved today, with which you do not agree? Pause for agreement.
- Then close with this, "So every one of you can support all of the combined recommendations from our team, as listed on this client's The Greatest Probability Strategy™? Pause for agreement.
- If there is disagreement from any member gain clarification of specifically what is not agreed to.
Q: How do I handle arguments, if they arise?
A: As Trusted Advisor, your job is to actually encourage spirited discussion and debate over issues (to ensure recommendations are thoroughly examined). You want your entire team's views, especially members with dissenting views. However, also make it your job as facilitator to ensure all discussions remain calm and professional.
Q: Do all my Deliverables Team Members have to be present in my office?
A: No, as Trusted Advisor, you will decide which The Deliverables Team Round-Table™ should be face-to-face, by phone, or through an online-meeting.
Q: What if a Deliverables Team Member has to reschedule?
A: It is recommended you reschedule the meeting. Generally, the onus is on the Deliverables Team Member who requests the rescheduling to be flexible and to clear their calendar to accommodate a new date which is convenient to the balance of your group
Q: What if I don't have any External Deliverables Team Members yet?
A: It is recommended that you hold The Deliverables Team Round-Table™ meeting, which is primarily a beefed-up Dry-Run Prep Meeting™, even if your Deliverables Team at this stage is just you, the Trusted Advisor, and your Administrative Manager.
Q: What if a Deliverables Team Member does not submit their meeting-prep materials in time for this meeting?
A: This is potentially a major infraction and should be confronted diplomatically, but very directly. The justification for delivering comprehensive financial services through a highly skilled Deliverables Team of Subject Matter Experts is that, as a result of their interactions, the client is better served. If a member of your Deliverables Team cannot be counted upon to show up on time with all the materials expected of them, this obstacle to extraordinary service must be confronted by you in your role as Trusted Advisor.
Q: Should my Administrative Manager or other Internal Deliverables Team Members attend this meeting?
A: Yes, the Administrative Manager is the lead coordinator prior to every Deliverables Team Round-Table™, often takes minutes during the meeting, and orchestrates all follow-ups after the meeting.
